Inside Line Promotions – HURON, S.D. (May 13, 2024) – Tim Estenson posted a top-five result last Saturday during his debut at Dakota State Fair Speedway.
Estenson opened the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 sprint cars event by finishing where he started – second – in a heat race. That lined him up on the inside of the fourth row in the main event.
“Jack (Dover) got the car pretty dialed in for the night and made adjustments to make the best of it,” he said. “It was single file pretty much all night right on the bottom. I was trying not to overdrive it or be over-aggressive. I think I got one or two positions on the start and whittled off one more in the middle of the race.
“We were able to pass a couple of cars in the feature and move forward. The biggest deal of it was to get a top five and finish in one piece.”
The fourth-place result was Estenson’s second top five of the season.
The event was the lone race of the weekend as Sunday’s show at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., rained out.
Next up for the team is a trip to Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa, with the POWRi 410 Bandit Outlaw Sprint Series this Friday before venturing to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday.
“It went great the whole night at Lee County until the last six laps last season,” Estenson said. “I made an error and ended up rolling. I’m looking for redemption. And we’re excited to get the season underway at Huset’s after the opener last weekend rained out.”

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Yamalube
In the mid-1960s Mr. Leo Lake, National Service Manager for then Yamaha International Corporation realized the sportcycle market needed a high quality oil that enhanced reliability, durability and dependability because "off-the-shelf" automotive oils simply didn't live up to Yamaha's standards.
After some service issues in the early ‘60s, Leo pursued the lubrication side of the problem for the next two years, convinced it had to do with lubrication and not the engine itself. After having tested hundreds of combinations Leo developed a blend that in 1967 became the iconic YAMALUBE brand and to this day we still embrace his uncompromising commitment to quality and performance.
Simply put, Yamalube is the only oil "built around" the unique demands, operating characteristics, and applications of not only Yamaha engines, but all Powersport engines. For more information, visit http://www.yamaha-motor.com.
“Yamalube makes top-of-the-line lubricants and cleaning products that help our race car operate well and look nice,” Estenson said.
Estenson would like to thank Estenson Racing, Truline Logistics, Yamalube, Arai Helmet, JDP Electric, JDP Automation and Backlund Plumbing for their continued support.
