Amdahl Aiming to Earn 410 Rookie of the Year Award at Huset’s and MSTS Championship During Biggest Season of Sprint Car Career
Inside Line Promotions – FLANDREAU, S.D. (Feb. 23, 2021) – Elliot Amdahl is embarking upon the most ambitious schedule of his racing career this year.
Amdahl is stepping into the 410ci winged sprint car ranks for the first time, tackling all of the races at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, S.D., as well as a couple of other marquee events in the region.
Amdahl will also race full-time with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series for the first time in his career. It will add approximately two dozen 360ci events to his schedule, which also features a handful of 305ci races during open dates. The overall plan between the three sprint car divisions is a little more than 50 races.
“With the success we’ve had in the 360, especially last year and in 2019, I think it will make the transition to 410s easier,” Amdahl said. “Outcast Racing Engines has worked side by side with me to get the right motor combination. I think it will make it a fairly easy transition.
“Also, thanks to the help of my partners and my crew chief, Steve Ziebarth; my dad, Matthew Amdahl; and Russell Heggen.”
Amdahl is entering his sixth season of racing sprint cars. Last year he earned his first career MSTS triumph en route to finishing 10th in the series’ championship standings despite missing multiple races.
This year the goal is to produce multiple wins and contend for the series championship. Amdahl’s focus at Huset’s Speedway is to win the 410 Rookie of the Year Award and land in the top 10 in the championship standings.
“We are looking to continue to build on the momentum and keep moving forward,” he said. “We are grateful for the partners that we have and we are seeking additional marketing partners who want to team up as we make our 410 debut, go after a 360 championship and head into our biggest schedule ever.”
Amdahl’s season is scheduled to begin April 9-10 at Park Jefferson International Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D., with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series.
